Client Success Specialist

Lexington, KentuckyPart-time
About the Job
The Group Travel Leader is seeking an outgoing, tech-savvy and highly organized Client Success Specialist to serve our customers and support our advertising sales team across a family of print and digital travel industry media brands. This part-time role is situated within the sales department and works closely with the production staff to manage client communications; organize, deliver and proof client assets for publication; assist in organizing client events; and provide behind-the-scenes administrative assistance for our sales staff.

The Group Travel Leader Inc. (and its affiliated company Pioneer Publishing Inc.) are Lexington, Kentucky-based travel media companies that publish four media brands across print and digital platforms. We’re America’s leader in media for the group tour, affinity travel and small meetings markets. We take pride in doing high-quality work, serving our clients well and making a meaningful difference in the world of group travel and events. Our culture is highly collaborative and fast-paced — but not high-pressure.

As our client success specialist, you’ll primarily focus your time on after-the-sale services that help our clients succeed and get the maximum return on their advertising investment. You’ll also support our sales team with administrative and organizational tasks as time allows.

  • Communicating with clients regarding deadlines, ad submissions and billing information.
  • Working with the editorial and production departments to ensure that clients’ creative assets are submitted on time.
  • Reviewing magazine proofs, web articles and e-newsletters prior to publication to ensure that clients’ ads have been placed properly and will run correctly.
  • Managing attendee registration, planning, and pre-trip logistics for travel events we facilitate on behalf of our clients.
  • Working in the back end of the company’s websites and blast email system to generate advertising reports for clients.
  • Managing and updating client information in our CRM system.
  • Using our blast email platform to send advertising opportunities or other sales messages.
  • Preparing and shipping exhibit materials for our sales staff traveling to various events.
  • Helping our sales staff keep information organized, launch promotional campaigns and research potential clients and opportunities.
As you progress with us, we’ll look for ways to teach you new skills, leverage your strengths and give you avenues for growth. This may include travel or direct sales opportunities.

About You:
You love people and genuinely enjoy helping them win. You have thrived in customer-facing roles before and know what great service looks like. You’re detail-oriented, eager to learn and always looking to contribute to the greater success of the team. You love the idea of working behind the scenes to make the whole organization shine.

A part-time opportunity is exactly what you want in this season of your life, and you value the flexibility that comes with working in a small, friendly organization.

Additionally, you are:
  • Experienced in customer service — You have worked at least 1-2 years in service roles and enjoy taking great care of clients.
  • Fluent in productivity tech — You don’t just “know how” to use tools like Microsoft 365 and Google Suite — you use them on a daily basis and know the tricks for operating quickly and efficiently. If you have experience with sales and publishing tools like CRMs, Wordpress or MailChimp, that’s even better.
  • A clear communicator — You enjoy talking to clients on the phone and can clearly explain deadlines, deliverables, etc. You can write clearly without AI assistance and are quick to respond to emails, instant messages, phone calls, etc.
  • Well organized — You have no trouble managing your calendar, keeping track of numerous ongoing projects simultaneously and getting work finished on deadline.
  • A great team member — You have a positive attitude and get along well with all kinds of people. You’re teachable and eager to learn new things. When you see a problem or an area that can be improved, you take initiative, speak up and start looking for solutions.
